1. About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply when you use www.advancedtechnologies.ca (the “Site”) or buy products from us online or in our store. Please read them, along with our Privacy Policy and our return policy in section 5, before you place an order. When you place an order, you agree to these Terms.
The site and store are operated by 975419 Ontario Inc. operating as Advanced Technologies (“Advanced Technologies”, “we”, “us” or “our”), Suite 101-221 Adelaide Street, Southampton, ON N0H 2L0. Our full contact details are in section 11.
These Terms cover retail purchases by consumers and businesses. Managed IT services are governed by a separate Managed Services Agreement, and these Terms do not apply to those services.
Your legal rights: nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer protection or sale of goods laws that cannot be waived or limited by agreement. If any part of these Terms conflicts with those laws, the law applies.
2. Eligibility and accounts
To place an order, you must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory and have a Canadian shipping or billing address.
You can check out as a guest or create an account. If you create an account, keep your password private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for orders placed through your account unless you tell us it was used without your permission. We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud or in breach of these Terms.
3. Prices, payment and order errors
Prices. All prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay. Prices and availability can change without notice, but the price confirmed in your order is the price you pay.
Payment. Online payments are processed by WooPayments (Stripe). We do not see or store your full card number. Your order is accepted when we send an order confirmation email, not when you submit it.
Errors. If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price or shown as in stock when it is not, because of a typing or system error, we may cancel the order, even after confirming it or charging your card. We will email you if this happens. If you have already paid, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method within 5 business days. Your card issuer may take longer to show the refund.
Fraud checks. We or our payment processor may cancel an order that appears fraudulent. You can contact us to have the decision reviewed by a person.
4. Shipping and Delivery
Where we ship. We ship only to addresses in Canada.
When we ship. In-stock items normally ship within 1 business day of your order confirmation. Delivery times depend on the carrier and your location.
Backorders. If an item is on backorder or out of stock, we will email you an estimated ship date. You can cancel an backordered item for a full refund at any time before it ships. If we cannot ship by the estimated date, we will tell you and offer a new date or a full refund.
Signature required. Orders over $500 (before taxes) are shipped signature required. We cannot change this to a no-signature delivery.
Lost or damaged packages. We are responsible for your order until it is delivered to the shipping address you gave us. Ownership of the product passes to you on delivery.
- If your package arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Please keep the packaging and send photos of the box and the product.
- If your package has not arrived within 5 business days of the carrier’s expected delivery date, contact us.
We will file the claim with the carrier and send a replacement or a full refund. Reporting damage within 48 hours helps us recover it from the carrier. If you report it later, we will still help, but you may need to use the manufacturer’s warranty or your rights in sections 5 and 6.
5. Returns, refunds and defective products
There are two kinds of returns: change-of-mind returns, which must be sealed and defective or damaged products, which we handle whether or not the box has been opened.
| Change-of-mind return | Defective or damaged on arrival | |
| Time limit | 15 days from delivery (online) or purchase (in store) | 15 days from delivery or purchase; transit damage within 48 hours (section 4) |
| Condition | Unopened, unused, in original factory-sealed packaging | Any condition, packaging opened or not |
| What you get | Full refund of the product price | Replacement, full refund, or manufacturer repair, at your choice where stock allows |
| Return shipping | We provide a prepaid label | We provide a prepaid label |
| Restocking fee | None | None |
Change-of-mind returns. Because consumer electronics are high-value and hard to resell once opened, we only accept change-of-mind returns of products that are completely unopened. If the factory wrap, security seal or box tape has been cut, broken or removed, the product cannot be returned for a change of mind.
Defective or damaged products. If a product does not work or is damaged when you receive it, contact us within 15 days. We may ask for photos, a short description or a quick troubleshooting step. After 15 days, defects are handled through the manufacturers warranty (section 6), and we will help you start the claim.
How to return. Contact us at returns@advancedtechnologies.ca or 519-483-3560 before sending anything. We will email you a return authorization and prepaid label. Returns sent without authorization may be refused. For in-store purchases, bring the product and your receipt to the store.
Refunds. We refund to your original payment method within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the return. Original shipping charges are refunded for defective or damaged products and for orders we cancel; they are not refunded for change-of-mind returns.
6. Warranties
- Manufacturer warranty: New products we sell come with the manufacturer’s warranty, such as Lenovo’s or Samsung’s. Warranty repairs and replacements after the first 15 days are usually handled directly by the manufacturer under its own terms. We are glad to help you start a claim.
- No extended store warranty. We do not offer our own extended wrranty or protection plan.
- Your statutory rights. Products we sell must be of acceptable quality and fit for their normal purpose, as provincial sale of goods and consumer protection laws require. These rights are in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty and are not limited by these Terms.
- Back up your data. Before sending any device for warranty service or repair, back up your files. Warranty service may erase stored data.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost data, arising from your use of the Site or of products bought from us
- our total liability for any claim about a product is limited to the price you paid for that product
- we are not liable for temporary unavailability of the Site or for errors in product information supplied by manufacturers, provided we act promptly to correct them
Nothing in these Terms limits or liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or from anything else that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under consumer protection laws.
8. Using the Site
You may not use the Site:
- for any unlawful purpose
- to place fraudulent orders or use payment details you are not authorized to use
- to upload or send viruses, malware or other harmful code
- to scrape, crawl or copy product listings, prices or inventory without our written permission

Site content. The text, photos, graphics and logos on the Site belong to us our our suppliers and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Brand names such as Lenovo and Samsung belong to their owners. You may view and print pages for personal use, but not copy or republish them without permission.
Privacy. How we collect and use personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you have a concern, please contact us first; most issues can be resolved quickly. Disputes may be brough in the courts of Ontario, including Small Claims Court.
If you live outside Ontario, nothing in these Terms takes away your rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory, including the right to bring a claim in its courts.
Quebec customers. If you live in Quebec, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act applies to your purchase, and any term of these Terms that it does not allow does not apply to you. A French version of these terms are available on request.
10. General terms
- Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as carrier disruptions, severe weather, strikes or supplier shortages. If this delays your order significantly, you can cancel it for a full refund.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy and your order confirmation are the full agreement for your purchase.
- Changes. We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new “Last updated” date. The Terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
