Networking – Bruce & Grey

Business Networking &
Wi-Fi in Bruce and Grey

Fast, secure networks that just work.

Slow Wi-Fi, dropped calls and a firewall no one has looked into for years are some of the most common problems we find. We design, install and manage business networks across Bruce and Grey: firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and cabling, documented and monitored around the clock by our team in Southampton.

Secure by design

Business-grade firewalls, guest Wi-Fi kept separate from business systems, and firmware kept current.

Coverage that reaches

Access points placed from a site survey, not guesswork, so the back office and the warehouse both get signal.

Monitored 24/7

We’re alerted when a switch, firewall or internet connection fails, often before you notice.

What we install and manage

  • Firewalls: firewalls with VPN for remote staff, web filtering and intrusion prevention
  • Switches: managed switches with separate networks (VLANs) for staff, guests, phones and cameras
  • Wi-Fi: business access points with seamless roaming and a separate, bandwidth-limited guest network
  • Cabling: new runs, patch panels and network closets tidied and labelled
  • Internet: help choosing a provider, failover to a second connection, and rural or satellite options
  • Site-to-site VPN: branch offices connected securely to the head office

How a network project works

Survey

We walk the building, test Wi-Fi coverage and document what’s there now.

Design

A plain-language proposal: what to replace, what to keep and what it costs.

Install

Work is done after hours where possible, so the office isn’t offline during the day.

Manage

Everything is documented, monitored and kept up to date as part of your plan

Common fixes we make

  • Wi-Fi that drops in half the building
  • A consumer router from the internet provider running the whole office
  • Guest and payment terminals on the same network as staff computers
  • No one knows the firewall password
  • VoIP calls that cut out or sound robotic (see business VoIP)
  • A network closet nobody wants to open

Networking questoins

Do we need a business firewall?

If you store client data or have staff working remotely, yes. The router your internet provider supplies isn’t built to filter threats or be managed securely.

Can you fix Wi-Fi in an older building?

Usually. Thick walls and long buildings need more, properly placed access points rather than one powerful router. A site survey shows exactly where they should go.

Can guests us our Wi-Fi safely?

Yes. Guest Wi-Fi runs on its own network with its own speed limits, so guests never reach your computers or slow down business systems.

Do you run network calbing?

Yes, with a partner. We can add drops, rewire an office or clean up an existing network closet.

Is network management included in managed IT?

Monitoring is included in every plan paid monthly per device.
